Discover West Orange is a partnership of the two largest Orthodox synagogues in town - Congregation AABJ&D and Congregation Ohr Torah. While distinct institutions, we work together to build one community.

Congregation AABJ&D

Congregation Ahawas Achim B’nai Jacob & David is a vibrant, welcoming, inclusive and growing modern Orthodox congregation that is grounded in Torah observance, and encourages ongoing commitment to spiritual growth, enhanced shul involvement, support of the State of Israel, and participation in our broader local community.

AABJ&D is very proud of our Sephardic minyan, which is comprised of many different cultures and backgrounds. We offer daily minyanim, an array of shiurim, and the opportunity to be involved in the Sephardic minyan and the community as a whole. We are excited to welcome you to our Sephardic minyan!

Congregation Ohr Torah

Congregation Ohr Torah is a vibrant and diverse Orthodox synagogue located in the northwest section of West Orange, New Jersey. Established in 1992, it continues to develop as its membership increases with the continuing influx of Jewish families to this suburban township that supports local kosher restaurants, day schools, eruvim, mikvaot, and Judaica shops. The warm and welcoming atmosphere of Ohr Torah ensures congregants of all ages feel at home.
